Business Manager

Description

Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. has an excellent opportunity for a Business Manager in the Photovoltaic Division  for its HQ in Cypress, CA. 

Position Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated, organized, analytical and effectively bilingual (English & Japanese) professional that has great interpersonal skills.  The selected individual must be able to work with limited supervision and be responsible for program management with factories and dedicated sales channel.  This exciting dual function position is expected to build a dedicated sales portfolio and develop a pipeline for future sales opportunities as well as managing internal projects. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and assist in the budget process with factory and US management.
  • Explain and elaborate market trend and business strategy to internal stakeholders.
  • Lead in cultivating and winning sales with Japanese accounts.
  • Participate in monthly inventory planning meetings with factory.
  • Facilitate communications between engineering and business teams.
  • Lead in project management with various factories.
  • Update and publish system performance data.
  • Provide Japanese reports when needed.
  • Help translate reports from Japan when needed.
  • Willingness to travel as needed. 

Experience/Education:

  • College degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Environmental Studies or related discipline.  Master's degree a plus.
  • 2-4 years of experience in PV industry is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effectively bilingual in English/Japanese.
  • Highly motivated with excellent project management, organizational, analytical and computer skills.
  • Excel in working independently and in a team.
  • A deep desire to be in the PV or renewable energy business.

Commercial Sales Manager

Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. has an excellent opportunity for a Commercial Sales Manager in the Photovoltaic Division in Cypress, CA. 

Position Summary:

With limited supervision, this position is responsible for generation and development of PV product sales for large commercial opportunities in the US as well as Latin America.  Responsibilities include adding and managing channel partners and orchestrating the sales strategy.  This position is expected to build a sales portfolio, develop a pipeline for future sales opportunities and chart an overall growth plan for the territory.

Responsibilities: ​

  • Develop network of contacts for domestic large-scale commercial, micro grid, small-scale utility and Latin American solar opportunities.
  • Develop new business through active prospecting and persistent follow-through with customers and opportunities.
  • Establish relationships with project financiers and become familiar with available financing models.
  • Understand solar policies and local market conditions in strategic Latin American markets.   Represent Mitsubishi Electric at trade shows and conferences.
  • Gather and report on competitive and market intelligence.
  • Attend networking events to identify sales opportunities and build relationships.
  • Help identify new markets/product opportunities and provide input for overall sales strategy.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and overseas.

Education/Experience

  • Minimum four year college degree.
  • In-depth knowledge of PV industry; knowledge of or experience in Latin America market a plus.
  • 3-5 years experience in PV related sales and business development preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in meeting or exceeding B2B sales targets.
  • Experience in multimillion dollar contract negotiation.
  • Experience managing project oriented sales process.
  • Financially astute with ability to understand and perform financial analysis involving ROI, payback, etc.
  • Experience in technical sales and contract review.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • SalesForce experience a plus.
  • A deep desire to be in the renewable energy business, preferably proven experience and commitment.
